credit card debt - credit card comparison

i have about $5000 worth of credit card debt built up from college that i want to pay off quickly. the interest rates are killing me and i find it harder and harder to pay them, even the min. payment. of course this has had a negitive effect on my credit score so i’m finding it difficult to get a personal loan to pay them off. Any suggestions on how to get a handle on this debt? how about any place that will give you a loan with a low credit score?

Im currently a student and rely on private bank student loans to pay for my education. I recently took out more than needed to pay for credit card debt worth 6000.00. I hear about other students doing the same but i was wondering how one would get caught doing this? im worried that the IRS will garnish my wages if they find out what i did. has anyone ever been caught doing this or know someone who has been caught? if so what happened and how do they find out it is being done. please help
