Can they garnish wages in Nevada for credit card debt?

December 23rd, 2009
the happy cynic asked:

I did see on the site, it’s 25% of disposable earnings does that mean a portion of it? can someone expand on the garnishment in Nevada. Please no copying and pasting, I already did a search and that is why I’m asking here.

The rest is disposable if you have only 25 of your check the rest is disposable if you have any more questions you already have garnishment on your disposable.

What Amy said, but I might add you should file a ‘claim of exemption’ and demonstrate to the judge what your budget is. You could get a very small payment amount approved if you can prove taking 25% of your disposable income puts you in a difficult survival situation. I’ve seen $10/mo - $50/mo.
